apatosaurus sculpt work in progress

have been working on a sculpt of the Apatosaurus; polypainting also now done. Going to do aposed version and then at some point a low poly mesh with rig and animation.

spiderDude's post on polycount forum was a big help in figuring out a transpose issue that was giving me 'no matching data' mesh will be 'skipped' problem that was preventing posing; so now i will be on to posing: "Side note, if you ever get a weird error from transpose master saying "No matching data set": save your ztool open up lightbox load a zproject(any project, I chose one of the spheres) load your ztool use transpose master(also make sure no subtool has dynamesh active) tranpose to your heart's desire" the link is here: thanks spiderDude! this worked!

Some orcs I did in Andrew Baker's workshop; by far probably the best workshop I have ever taken .

Kobura vs. Tropical Punch

Tobashi pictures needed a win to turn around the mood of its unhappy investors. A long string of recent flops such as Lucky Cat goes to Washington, The Saddest Samurai, and Revenge of the Panda Zombies had quickly transformed the prosperous studio from a success to the brink of bankruptcy.
The stunt actor waddled out in the rubber suit and took his place in the large wading pool opposite another actor dressed in a vacuform plastic mech suit. “Quiet on the set!” screamed the Assistant Director. A gust of wet air flew from the massive wind fans as the epic battle began…. Koburu towered over the toxic alien jungle where he used his atomic spores to level Hong Kong. Triumphantly he returned to the ocean seeking the shipping lanes that run from the once bustling port in his unending spree of terraforming destruction. Suddenly a burst of light! The legendary mech known as Tropical Punch piloted by Sami Okami dropped from the sky, riding the winds from Hawaii to end this other worldly menace once and for all! There would be only one winner in …..KOBURA VS. TROPICAL PUNCH!

the Nakika

I recently took a workshop with Alex Reis at Phoenix Atelier (being a bit of a workshop junky) and highly recommend it.
I entered my project (the Nakika) from the workshop into the helpful bear workshop (Terryl Whitlatch) and made it as a finalist. It now looks like there will be a printed book on creatures! Pretty thrilled that I might be published in a concept art book.

This is a sculpture and creature deisgn I did when I took Carlos Huante's workshop at anatomytools. It will probably always be a work in progress but I love getting the chance to work in clay. It is something that has done a lot to make me better at form, structure, and anatomy; additionally you get an artifact you can actually touch and see physically rather than just a digital reconstruction (admittedly 3d printing is changing that!)
